AJUMS Strengthens Academic Ties with Iraq in Meeting with New Consul General

Joint Meeting between the Office of International Relations of Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences and the New Consul General of the Republic of Iraq in Ahvaz In coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, a joint meeting was held between the Office of International Relations of Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences (AJUMS) and the new Consul General of the Republic of Iraq in Ahvaz, His Excellency Mr. Sayyed Wissam. The meeting was hosted by the Consulate General of Iraq in Ahvaz, with the presence of the Consul General’s legal and executive team. The purpose of the meeting was to explore and strengthen avenues for bilateral cooperation in academic, scientific, and executive fields between AJUMS and Iraqi academic institutions. Discussions included joint research opportunities, student and faculty exchange programs, academic workshops, and initiatives to facilitate international collaboration in health and medical education. His Excellency Mr. Sayyed Wissam welcomed the collaboration and reaffirmed the Consulate’s commitment to supporting and facilitating such initiatives. The representative of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also emphasized the Ministry’s role in supporting and coordinating academic diplomacy and fostering educational ties with neighboring countries, especially Iraq. Both sides expressed their shared commitment to initiating new cooperative programs in the near future, opening a new chapter in academic and regional partnership.
