About School of Paramedical Sciences

The School of Allied Health Sciences was founded in 1972 with the integration of the departments of Laboratory Sciences, Radiology, and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Initially named the School of Hospital Sciences, it was later rebranded as the School of Medical Technology, before ultimately adopting the title of the School of Allied Health Sciences. Over the years, the school expanded its academic offerings with the addition of the Department of Nutrition (1974), Department of Public Health (1976), Department of Biomedical Engineering (1977), and the Departments of Anesthesia and Physiotherapy (1984).

Today, the School of Allied Health Sciences offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs in several disciplines including Nutrition, Laboratory Sciences, Medical Imaging and Radiological Sciences, Anesthesia Technology/Education, Health Information Technology, and Medical Informatics.
