About

AJUMS School of Rehabilitation Sciences was established in 1975 within Imam Khomeini Hospital. The school began its activities with two faculty members and seven students in the undergraduate Physiotherapy program.

After the victory of the Islamic Revolution, during the 1978-1979 academic year, a new building was allocated to the Faculty of Rehabilitation. In 1991, the university decided to move the school from its previous location to a larger site within the university campus.

After 29 years of activity, the school officially began its academic and medical practice in its new location on the university campus in early January 2005. The faculty building covers approximately 7,700 square meters in two floors.

In 2007, the Comprehensive Rehabilitation Specialty Polyclinic was inaugurated. This facility includes specialized departments for Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Audiology.

Currently, the first Comprehensive Rehabilitation Specialty Polyclinic is located at Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences in Ahvaz, across from the MRI section of Golestan Hospital, and belongs to the School of Rehabilitation Sciences. The second Comprehensive Rehabilitation Specialty Polyclinic is located in Administrative Building No. 2 and provides services to clients from the region and nearby provinces.

The rehabilitation facilities include specialty clinics in Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Audiology, and Orthopedic Technology. They also provide specialized treatment services for specific patients in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy.

The school is also associated with scientific and research centers, including the Rehabilitation Research Center, Comprehensive Child Development Center, Khuzestan MS Association, and scientific and professional associations for Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Audiology.
