Installation of Color-Coded Waste Segregation Bins at the School of Nursing and Midwifery
On 8 August 2026, the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences completed the installation of color-coded waste segregation bins across the faculty building.
The waste segregation system includes clearly labeled bins for Paper (office paper, notebooks, newspapers, cardboard – clean and dry), Plastic & Glass (plastic and glass bottles and containers – clean and dry), Organic Waste (food waste, fruit peels, tea bags), and Special Waste (batteries, printer cartridges, light bulbs, and electronic waste). Each bin was equipped with bilingual labels and placed in designated locations to facilitate proper waste separation. In addition, an informational poster was installed next to the waste segregation bins to guide students, faculty members, and staff on proper waste sorting.
This initiative aims to encourage responsible waste management practices among students, faculty members, and staff, while improving cleanliness and environmental awareness within the school.
