Important Updates
Dear Students,
We recognize that each of you is facing unique circumstances, and we remain committed to providing the best possible support. The university continues to foster a safe and supportive environment to help you progress in your academic journey. We encourage you to make decisions that best suit your individual situation. For those who wish to take advantage of available opportunities, we are here to assist you every step of the way.
I would also like to update you on the outcomes of a recent session held with Dr. Hanafi and Dr. Moghadam from the School of Medicine. The following key decisions have been made:
1. Basic Sciences (2nd and 3rd Semester & Undergraduate Students)
- The same regulations that apply to Iranian students will also be enforced for international students. Accordingly, the comprehensive basic sciences examination will commence on the 1st of Shahrivar (August 23).
- For 4th-semester students concerned about potential scheduling conflicts between final exams and the comprehensive exam, Dr. Moghadam has indicated that certain solutions are already being implemented by Iranian students. These strategies will be shared soon and, if found feasible, may also be adopted for international students.
- Additionally, it has been proposed that international students be permitted to begin their final exams one week before the 1st of Shahrivar to alleviate exam congestion. However, this proposal requires approval from course instructors, as it may overlap with their summer holidays.
2. Physiopathology Students
- Students who have already returned can continue their courses as previously scheduled.
- Those who are still facing challenges in returning to Iran are strongly advised to do so as soon as possible, in order to avoid missing any further in-person classes or exams.
- For students who return with some delay, the university will issue official letters to clarify the reason for their absence, ensuring that professors do not regard these absences as unexcused. Please note:
- In-person attendance is mandatory for all examinations.
- Due to potential delays in attending classes, the exam schedule may be more intensive for late-arriving students.
- We strongly advise you to use this time wisely and study your courses thoroughly so that you are well-prepared for the exams upon arrival in Iran.
- Once the intensive exam period begins, no alternative arrangements will be possible.
- The university is also making efforts to compensate for missed classes through virtual sessions, which requires time to implement.
Regarding missed exams:
- Make-up exams will only be arranged for students who were absent, not for those who failed.
- These make-up exams will be held after the final exam period.
3. Externship Students
All externship students are invited to return to Iran and resume their courses in person.
Warm regards,
Dr. Somayeh Biparva
Director of International Affairs
