Introduction of the Research Centers
The prevalence of infertility and its complications are very high in Khuzestan province. This issue can be due to many reasons, including 8 years of imposed war and complications caused by chemical bombings and the presence of numerous pollutants due to the industrial nature of the region. Unfortunately, the research and treatment centers in Khuzestan province do not support the large number of infertile people in the province, and therefore every year a large number of infertile people refer to other provinces and Tehran for treatment. Another goal of the establishment of this center is to increase public knowledge in general and to train different categories of medicine in particular.

Strategic Research Units

Fertility and Infertility Unit
  • Development and application of modern human knowledge in the field of reproductive science and infertility.
  • Conducting basic, epidemiological and clinical researches to understand causes of infertility in men and women.
  • Research on appropriate treatment methods for infertile couples.
Fetal Health Unit
  • Cellular and molecular study of pathogenic genes causing abnormalities and abortion.
  • Identifying the genotype of factors that cause fetal abnormalities.
  • Providing genetic treatments and Pharmacogenetics research.

Core Objectives & Focus Areas

Our objectives include the training of human resources and researchers to improve the level of science, technology and empowerment of the research center, achieving the improvement of the health level of the society as the axis of sustainable development.
