Due to the high prevalence of various eye diseases—such as infectious eye diseases, cataract, glaucoma, strabismus, trauma, and eye conditions related to tropical regions and sunlight—the establishment of an ophthalmic research center is essential for identifying the prevalence and improving the treatment of these conditions. Accordingly, the Eye Infections Research Center of Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences officially commenced its activities on May 13, 2013, following the initial approval and obtaining the required permissions.
